Saperavi is Georgia’s hero grape variety. One of only a handful of grapes worldwide with highly-pigmented red flesh as well as skins, the name translates as ‘to dye’. Georgian traditional method – qvevri has been used in crafting this wine. The grapes were hand harvested from old vines in the region of Kakheti with fermentation and aging on skins taken place for six months in qvevri buried in the ground in cellars. The result is a powerful Saperavi with deep ruby colour, ripe dark cherries and cranberries, dark plums, jammy prunes and raisins, hints of figs, walnuts, coffee, dark chocolate and a wide range of spices, gamy.

Mukuzani is a Protected Designation of Origin in Kakheti region made from Georgian most famous indigenous grape variety Saperavi often referred to as a hero grape. One of only a handful of grapes worldwide with highly pigmented red flesh as well as skins, the name translates as ‘to dye’. Mukuzani has an incredible character, outstanding refreshing acidity with intense chocolate, cherry, blackberry and slightly gamy aromas. Texturally it is firm, yet pillowy with soft silky tannins – a combination with real potential.
